Mr. Charles David Lowry, age 73, of Shepherdsville, KY, formerly of Trion, GA, returned to the Lord on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at his home. He was born on February 20, 1951, to the late Herman and Robbie Cook Lowry in Trion, GA.
Mr. Lowry was a retired employee of General Electric Company, a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the VFW, and the Church of Christ. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and his dog, Buddy. He was very outgoing and generous to a fault.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny and Terry Lowry; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl H. and Ruby Tinney.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Lowry; one daughter, Whitnie (James) Hart; two brothers, Gary and Stephen Lowry; two grandchildren, Cooper Payton and Bella Hart; aunt, Glynelle Rowland; uncle, Gene Henderson; two nieces, Rebecca Hammonds and Tereasa Lowry; four nephews, Andrew, Jay, and Jon Lowry, and Mike Arnold, along with a host of great nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home, Mt. Washington, KY.
Funeral services for Mr. Lowry will be held Friday, December 6, 2024, at Mason Funeral Home, Summerville, GA, with visitation there from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
Interment will follow with full military honors at Howell Cemetery in Trion, GA.
