Mrs. Frances Melba Marbutt Walters, age 82, of Summerville, GA, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Atrium Health Floyd.

Mrs. Walters was born August 23, 1940, in Summerville, GA, daughter of the late Hillard Ray and Frances Mozelle Thomas Marbutt. She was a member of Living Waters Ministries and had previously been employed with Roper and Wal-Mart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Charles “Happy” Walters; brothers, Gary Marbutt and Karl Marbutt; sisters, Shelia Bates, Joy Bryan, Mona Hughes, and Judy Marbutt; and a grandson, Trey Walters.

Survivors include her son, Billy Walters, Jr.; daughters, Leigh (James) Smith, Cindi (Marvin) Arnold; a brother, Alan Marbutt; sisters, Gail Dotson, Dolly Adams, Lynn Marbutt, and Sonya Marbutt; 9 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Perennial Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marvin “Stumper” Arnold, Mitchell Arnold, Ethan Harrison, Aaron Strickland, Donald Morgan, and Gordon Walters.

Mrs. Walters will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Wednesday.
