Mrs. Hope Marie Floyd, age 90 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024 at the residence of her son in Trion.
Mrs. Floyd was born in Rome, Georgia on June 24, 1934, daughter of the late James Andy Vinyard and Elsie Mae Chapman Vinyard. She was a member of the Pennville Church of Christ and was retired from Best Manufacturing. Christmas was her favorite time of year. Mrs. Floyd enjoyed watching Soap Operas and attending Soap Opera Conventions. She loved to garden, crochet and make crafts of all kinds, but her favorite activity was spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Floyd was preceded in death by sisters, Frances Pettyjohn and Lucy Shropshire; brothers, J.T. Vinyard, Billy Vinyard and Franklin Vineyard; grandchildren, Jason Rogers and Lettie Stoner; and a daughter-in-law, Darlene Floyd.
Mrs. Floyd is survived by a daughter, Gina Rogers; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Mary Floyd, Jerry Floyd and James and Dale Floyd; sister, Charlotte Fortenberry; sisters-in-law, Betty Vinyard and Mary Floyd Hampton; cousins, Walter Hugh and Kay Vinyard; 11 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Floyd will be held Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Minister of the Gospel, Rodney Stephens and Minister of the Gospel Robby Eversole officiating. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Justin Rogers, David Rogers, Johnathan Floyd, Nick Floyd, Trevor Curtis and Sammy Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and all family members.
Mrs. Floyd’s family will receive friends at the Coffman Funeral Home Saturday from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour.
The family respectfully asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Macedonia Cemetery Fund, 488 East Teloga Rd. Summerville, GA 30747.
