Jerry David “Hollywood” Holbrook passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, at the age of 74, surrounded by the love of his family. Known for his larger-than-life personality, his love of music, and his passion for living life on his own terms, Jerry leaves behind a legacy as colorful and enduring as the tunes he so loved to play.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and Dorothy Holbrook; his brother and sister-in-law, Ollie and Linda Holbrook; his sister, Linda Adkins; and his longtime companion and love, Deborah “DJ” Jones.

Jerry is survived by his children: Tammy (Dwayne) Wissinger of Resaca, GA, Kenneth Holbrook of Resaca, GA, Kelsea Tucker of Summerville, GA, and Pati Ware of Santa Fe, TN; Hope (Don) Oliver of Unionville, MI,; a sister, Marlene (Larry) Hardwick. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his faithful four-legged friend, “Champ,” who rarely left his side.

A lifelong lover of bluegrass and country music, Jerry played in several bands throughout his life, sharing his talent and joy with all who listened. He had a knack for “wheeling and dealing,” always on the lookout for the next great trade or treasure. Jerry was an avid fisherman and hunter who found peace in the great outdoors and he never shied away from a gamble—whether at life, a slot machine, or a poker table.

Those who knew Jerry will remember his quick wit and his ability to find laughter in the unexpected. “Hollywood” lived boldly and leaves behind stories that will be told for generations.
