Mr. Marvin F. Hunter, age 87, of Summerville, GA, died Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at his residence.

Mr. Hunter was born September 30, 1937, in Summerville, GA, son of the late Lee and Pluma McGuire Hunter. He was a member of the Summerville Pentecostal Worship Center, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Coosa Valley Contractors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Kevin Christopher Hunter; brothers, Leroy Hunter, Eddie Lee Hunter; sisters, Ruby Clements, Geraldine Baldwin; and a nephew, Roy Hunter.

Survivors include his wife, Mattie Bell Sims Hunter; a son, Larry (A.J.) Hunter; daughters, Sandra Crowe, Fran (Randall) Hamilton; 5 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 18, 2025, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Evangelist Linda Baughtman officiating. Interment will follow in Summerville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Hancock, Austin Dillard, Blake Callahan, Kevin Bentley, James Durham, and Anthony Groce.

Mr. Hunter will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday.
