Fall farm season is getting underway across Georgia, and the Georgia Department of Agriculture has launched a new tool designed to connect families directly with farms offering seasonal activities.

Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper announced the new Georgia Grown Fall Agritourism Map this week. The online resource highlights Georgia farms offering pumpkin patches, corn mazes, U-pick operations and other fall activities.

The timing coincides with the beginning of one of the busiest agritourism periods of the year, particularly in North Georgia, where apple orchards, pumpkin farms and other agricultural attractions draw visitors throughout the fall.

Georgia’s apple season is also underway. The Georgia Department of Agriculture says the state has an estimated 360,000 apple-producing trees, with most production concentrated in the North Georgia mountains. The state’s apple crop had a farm-gate value of more than $12 million in 2024.

State agriculture officials say agritourism gives consumers an opportunity to see agriculture firsthand while spending money directly with Georgia farmers and rural businesses.

The new statewide map allows visitors to search for participating Georgia Grown farms and seasonal attractions as they plan fall trips.

For Northwest Georgia residents, the announcement comes as farms across the region move into the fall harvest and agritourism season.
