Families in Chattooga County will have a chance to enjoy some Christmas fun tomorrow as the Peppermint Project comes to Sloppy Floyd State Park.
Hosted by the Friends of Sloppy Floyd State Park and Friends of Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites, the three-hour event will feature Santa, the Grinch, Mrs. Cardinal and the Woodland Elves of the Peppermint Cave. Children can sip hot chocolate, enjoy cookies, make a craft, roast marshmallows, take photos with Santa and hear stories about the elves racing to finish their biggest candy order of the year.
The event itself is free and open to the public. A $5 parking fee per vehicle applies unless visitors have an annual park pass. Local libraries also have a limited number of park passes that can be checked out at no cost. Organizers say it will be a fun night for all ages at 2800 Sloppy Floyd Lake Road in Summerville.
