Possible Burglary Reported On Old Mill Road In Summerville

A possible burglary is under investigation after being reported last Friday on Old Mill Road in Summerville, according to the Summerville Police Department.

Officers responded on May 8 to a residence in the 400 block of Old Mill Road. Upon arrival, they made contact with the homeowner, who reported that a back door to the residence appeared to have been kicked in.

According to the report, the door frame showed signs of damage, indicating forced entry. However, the homeowner told officers that after checking the residence, nothing appeared to be missing.

The homeowner also indicated that a possible suspect could be an ex-girlfriend, though no arrests have been made at this time.

The case has been referred to a detective with the Summerville Police Department for further investigation.

Information Sought In Burglary, Theft At Saddle Ridge School During Spring Break

The Walker County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help as detectives investigate a burglary and theft at Saddle Ridge Elementary-Middle School in Rock Spring.

According to investigators, the incident happened sometime between March 27, 2026, and April 6, 2026, during spring break for Walker County Schools.

Authorities said someone entered the Forest Kindergarten building, located about 300 yards in front of the school, by removing a door hasp.

Once inside, the suspect or suspects reportedly destroyed or stole several items, including a ninja obstacle course, zip line, hammocks, cargo nets, and camping chairs.

The total value of the damaged and stolen property is estimated at $2,330.

Summerville Police Investigating Reported Burglary on Stevens Street

Police in Summerville are investigating a reported burglary after a resident discovered signs of forced entry at a home on Stevens Street.

According to a police report, officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Stevens Street around 12:48 p.m. on March 2, 2026 in reference to a burglary complaint. The resident told police a neighbor reported seeing someone inside a carport storage closet on a previous date.

When officers checked the residence, they observed a window screen that appeared to have been pried open. The report notes the resident was not home at the time of the incident, and officers were unable to locate the person described by the neighbor.

The case has been documented and forwarded for further investigation.

Summerville Police are investigating a reported burglary at a residence on Roseway Circle that occurred on December 12, 2025, according to an incident report from the Summerville Police Department.
