Ice skating is returning to Rome later this month as Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation prepares to open its seasonal ice skating rink for the holidays.

The department announced that the rink will officially open Tuesday, November 24, offering families and visitors an opportunity to enjoy ice skating throughout the holiday season.

In addition to public skating, the rink will be available for birthday parties, school field trips and other group outings.

Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation is encouraging teachers to begin booking field trips and families to make plans for holiday celebrations at the rink.

The seasonal attraction has become a popular holiday activity in Rome, offering an opportunity for winter recreation close to home.

Additional information about skating dates, operating hours, reservations and booking opportunities is available through the Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation website at www.rfpra.com/iceskating.
