Glitch Prompts Trion Dog Park Access Updates

Last week, the Trion Recreation Department announced an important update for dog park users: all previously issued access cards are now obsolete.

According to the department, troubleshooting issues with the park’s keypad system required a full reset, making the older keys unusable.

Anyone who has not received a new key within the past couple of weeks will need to stop by the Trion Recreation Department to obtain an updated one. Officials said the change was necessary to resolve the keypad malfunction and apologized for any inconvenience.

The Town of Trion officially opened the dog park earlier this year at the track field off Simmons Street. The fenced-in facility provides a dedicated area where residents can exercise, train and socialize their dogs.

The park, inspired by Brinley A. Corbin, includes green mesh perimeter fencing, landscaped planting beds and a shaded seating area for owners.

Town officials say the dog park continues to receive steady use and hope the updated key system will provide smooth and secure access moving forward.

The Trion Recreation Department is open during regular business hours for key replacement.

Trion To Hold Dog Park Opening Ceremony May 16

The Town of Trion will hold an official opening ceremony for its new dog park on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the Track Field pavilion adjoining Simmons Street. Town officials say the park was inspired by the late Brinley A. Corbin, whose dream has now become a reality.

Mayor Mickey McGraw and members of the Trion Town Council are inviting residents of Trion and the surrounding area to attend the ceremony and help celebrate the opening of the new community dog park.
