Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr says a major gang operation tied to Hays State Prison in Chattooga County has been shut down following the convictions of 16 members of the 1-8 Trey Gangster Bloods. The case stems from a large-scale investigation into violent crime, drug trafficking, and gang recruitment allegedly directed both inside and outside Georgia prisons.
At the request of the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is conducting an independent investigation into an officer-involved shooting in Bartow County that left one man dead. Authorities said no deputies were injured.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has arrested Conyers Police Department Lieutenant Jesus Cadena, age 36, of Loganville, on a charge of Theft by Deception following an internal request from his own agency.
