Hit-and-Run Reported in Summerville; Family Seeking Information After Driver Injured

Summerville Police are asking for the public’s help following a hit-and-run crash reported Wednesday morning, January 7, at the intersection of NW Congress Street and West 1st Avenue.

According to information provided by the family, the crash happened around 6:30 a.m. when a white Ford SUV was rear-ended and forced off the roadway by a dark blue or black large SUV. The driver of the larger SUV reportedly left the scene.

The driver of the white SUV, identified as Preston Miller, reportedly suffered spinal injuries and was being treated at the stand-alone emergency room in Trion.

Anyone with information, including possible surveillance video, dashcam footage, or details about the suspect vehicle, is asked to contact Summerville Police.
