Public health leaders across Georgia are renewing warnings about vaping as e-cigarette use remains a major concern for teens and young adults, even as prevention campaigns expand in schools and communities.
The Georgia Department of Public Health has been awarded nearly $2.9 million from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to support programs aimed at reducing traffic injuries and fatalities across the state. The grants, funded through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, will help expand child safety initiatives, improve data reporting systems, and strengthen injury-prevention programs.
Georgia residents who are currently sick, shut-in or homebound due to an ongoing physical or mental disability and are unable to travel to a COVID-19 vaccination site can request to receive vaccination at their home, that according to the Georgia Department of Public Health.
