More than 100 dogs in Chattooga County recently received preventative veterinary care through a community vaccine clinic organized by the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia in partnership with Chattooga County Animal Control.
According to the Humane Society, 106 local dogs were vaccinated during the clinic, helping protect pets and the wider community from preventable diseases.
The event was made possible in part through support from the Banfield Foundation. A Community Care Grant from the foundation covered the direct costs of the vaccines and treatments provided during the clinic.
The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia thanked Chattooga County Animal Control, volunteers and local pet owners for helping make the clinic a success.
Organizers said the strong turnout highlighted both the demand for affordable preventative care and the value of partnerships between animal welfare groups and local agencies.
The Humane Society said efforts like the vaccine clinic are aimed at keeping pets healthier while also improving overall public safety and animal welfare in the community.
