A long-idle industrial facility in Lyerly is being transformed with hopes of bringing new jobs and renewed business activity to Chattooga County. A developer from North Carolina has taken over the property and is now working to update the site and position it for a new chapter as a multi-tenant industrial and warehousing location.
Pilgrim’s, one of the world’s leading food companies, has officially broken ground on a new prepared foods facility in Walker County, a major project that leaders say will bring long-term impact to Northwest Georgia. The $400 million investment, first announced in July, is expected to create more than 630 new jobs once the plant is fully operational.
