An Armuchee man is facing a possession of methamphetamine charge following an arrest over the weekend.
According to Floyd County Jail records, 30-year-old Sebastian Duane Barker was found with meth while he was being arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Jail records also indicate Barker is being held for the Cherokee County, Alabama Sheriff’s Office in connection with that agency.
A 22-year-old Fortson, Georgia woman was arrested on Sunday by Summerville Police after a physical domestic disturbance on Orchard Road. According to a report from the Summerville Police Department, Diana Christine Valentine Gryer was accused of assaulting several people at the residence. Police charged Greyer with disorderly conduct and she was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
A couple in Armuchee is facing felony child cruelty charges after authorities say two children—both minors—were sent to school with animal feces on their clothing and bookbags, and were living in what investigators described as deplorable conditions inside the home.
