Multicultural Festival And Train Arrival Celebration Set For Saturday At Summerville Depot

Coming up tomorrow, the City of Summerville will welcome residents and visitors downtown for a Multicultural Market and special train arrival celebration at the historic Summerville Depot.

The free community event will be held Saturday, July 18, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and will celebrate friendship, international cultures and foods from around the world.

Special seating will be available inside the depot’s freight room, where visitors can enjoy food and entertainment throughout the day.

The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum passenger train is expected to arrive at the Summerville Depot between 12:30 and 1 p.m. The arrival will be followed by the turning of the steam engine on the Summerville Turntable, an event that is especially popular with railroad enthusiasts.

The public is invited to welcome arriving passengers and take part in the celebration. Organizers hope the event will encourage friendship, positivity and a shared commitment to making the community and the world a better place.

The City of Summerville is inviting residents and visitors to celebrate the many cultures that make up the community during the Multicultural Festival on Saturday, July 18, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Summerville Train Depot.

The free, family-friendly event will feature a “Taste Around the World” with a variety of international foods, live cultural performances, face painting, craft vendors, educational displays, and exhibits celebrating traditions from around the globe.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to welcome the arrival of the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum’s Antique Steam Engine and see the working Summerville Turntable, making it a unique day of entertainment, history, and community.

Organizers encourage everyone to come out and enjoy a day of food, culture, music, and family fun while celebrating the diversity that helps make Chattooga County a special place to live.

The City of Summerville is inviting the community out for a day of music, food, and local shopping at the upcoming May Market & Melodies event.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 10 AM until 3 PM at the Summerville Train Depot.

Organizers say the event will coincide with the arrival of the Tennessee Valley Railroad’s steam engine passenger train, adding a unique attraction for attendees. The day will feature live musical entertainment, a variety of local vendors, and a wide selection of food and handcrafted goods.

The event is free to attend and is designed to be family-friendly.

Downtown Summerville will be filled with Jeeps, rubber ducks, food vendors, and family fun today during the Ducky Derby Jeep Cruise-In event on East Washington Street.

The event runs from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and features food and craft vendors, kids activities, and a Jeep cruise-in where participating Jeep owners will receive a special rubber duck for their vehicle.

One of the day’s biggest attractions will be the arrival of the Tennessee Valley Railroad steam engine and the working of the historic Summerville turntable at 1 p.m.

The Rubber Ducky Race is scheduled for 1:30 p.m., with cash prizes awarded to the winning ducks. First place will receive $500, second place $250, and third place $100.

The event is sponsored by GP Federal Credit Union, Pro Roof GA, and Summerville Main Street.
