Chattooga River Fest will take be taking place at Angus McLeod Memorial Park in Lyerly today and tomorrow. The event is being hosted by the Chattooga River Group, a local volunteer group whose purpose is to showcase the Chattooga River in Chattooga County.
Police from Southwest Missouri contacted the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office recently regarding a firearm that had been recovered. According, to a report released by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office this week, a detective from the Springfield, Missouri Police Department contacted the local sheriff’s office and said that they had recovered a firearm from a man who had since passed away. Police in Missouri said that they wanted to return the gun to the man’s next of kin, who is the deceased man’s father. The sheriff’s office received the gun from police in Missouri and returned it to the man’s father.
