Jaycee Lynne To Perform At The Depot Today

The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum double-engine steam passenger train will be rolling into the Summerville Depot today, and the City of Summerville has a full day of events planned.  The city is hosting a chili and Brunswick stew cook-off.  The public can purchase $5 wristbands and sample all of the stew and chili, and vote for the Peoples Choice Awards.  The teams of stew and chili makers will be competing for a top prize of $500.  Also, the Chattooga County Historical Society will have the historic Couey House open for visitors today for a look back into the history of some of Chattooga County’s earliest settlers.  Music will be a part of today’s activities as well, with Nashville-based Jaycee Lynne performing.  You can read more about Jaycee Lynne’s music below:

High School Football Tonight On WZQZ

Tonight is a big night for both of our local high school football teams.  The Trion Bulldogs are ranked 5th in the state an will go on the road to Shannon, GA tonight to face their toughest test of the season in the Model Blue Devils.  Both Trion and Model are undefeated on the season and the Bulldogs are looking to avenge last year’s 31-27 loss at Sam R. McCain stadium in what was one of only two regular season losses last year for the Bulldogs.

After a last second game winning field goal last week to give Coach Roone Gable and the Chattooga Indians their first win of the season, Chattooga will be fighting for their second win of the season as they welcome the Murray County Indians to the Little Big Horn for homecoming tonight.  Chattooga is 1-2 on the season and Murray County is struggling at 0-3.  Murray County has back to back 1-9 seasons.

Join Ben Groce, Jeremy Burke and Jim Warnock tonight as they will be broadcasting live from Model High School.  The Trion vs Model game will broadcast on 99.1 FM and AM 1180 as well as video live streamed on the WZQZ Facebook page.

Paul and Phil Cavin will call the action tonight at the Little Big Horn.  The Chattooga vs Murray County game will be live video streamed on the WZQZ Facebook page.

The pregame show will begin around 7pm with kickoff to follow at 7:30 pm.
