A 32 year old Rome resident was arrested earlier in the week for failing to return to custody at the Work Release Center on October 15th.
Reports state that Luke Swann was scheduled to be released after returning to the center – however in light of his failure to return he was charged with felony Escape, and a Probation Violation.
He was taken into custody at a home on McHenry Drive.

Motorists traveling through Cedar Bluff Alabama were inconvenienced for a short period of time this Wednesday morning with a portion of Highway 68 close to Union State Bank being closed after an 18-wheeler left metal shavings in its wake.
The vehicle was actually pulled over by Centre Police for having his rear doors open.
The Cedar Bluff Fire Department was dispatched to the scene to wash down that area, with the roadway being re-opened to traffic in less than thirty minutes.
Cedar Bluff Police Chief Steve Walden says that it has yet to be determined, if the driver will be cited in connection with the incident.
A Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle was involved in a collision with a pickup - Monday afternoon on West Main Street, in front of the Gridiron restaurant in Centre.
The Chevy Tahoe being driven by Cpl. Nick Vaughn was struck by a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500, being driven by 40 year old Chad Fennel of Temple, Georgia.
Eyewitnesses at the scene say the pickup truck pulled out in front of Vaughn while attempting to make a left hand turn.
Cpl. Vaughn was examined at the scene by Cherokee EMS Paramedics fortunately he wasn't injured; meanwhile Fennel was treated for what appeared to be only minor injuries
Centre Police, Firefighters, Cherokee EMS and a number of other Law Enforcement Officials responded to the scene.
We are still awaiting release of the Georgia State Patrol accident report, for the two-vehicle crash that took place on Highway 48 earlier in the week; we had learned that same day that at least one person was air-lifted for treatment by LifeForce Helicopter.
Thus far the only information provided to us by the GSP was that one person was ejected in the accident, which took place around 10:30 Monday morning.
A two-vehicle accident involving a City of Summerville dump truck and a pickup truck took place Tuesday morning on North Commerce Street near AGL Propane.
According to eyewitnesses, that dump truck was in the process of turning right when it was struck in the rear by the pickup.
Fortunately, it appeared no one was seriously injured in the mishap. Both drivers were transported for treatment, primarily as a precautionary measure.

Mr. Scotty Alan “Scooter” Slawson, age 29, of Richmond, Kentucky passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Hutcheson Medical Center.
Mr. Slawson was born in Dayton, Ohio on November 5, 1985, son of Scotty Gilbert and Bonnie Jo Slawson Winkler. He was self employed as a carpenter and loved to draw. Mr. Slawson was preceded in death by a son, Ethan Slawson on February 18, 2007.
Mr. Slawson is survived by his children, Matthew Durham, Blaze Withrow and Shayla Slawson; his mother and step-father, Bonnie and Ricky Winkler; his father, Scotty Gilbert; brothers, Jason Chaney, Daniel Gilbert, and Nicholas Winkler; sisters, Jessica Smith, Juanita Malone and Jennifer Gilbert; and his former wife and mother of Blaze and Shayla, Kayla Harper Slawson.
Funeral Services for Mr. Slawson will be held Friday, October 23, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Pastor Dustin Farmer officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky next to his son, Ethan.
Mr. Slawson will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour.
