Mrs. Roma Yvonne Bertram, age 87, of Cedar Bluff, AL, died Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Advent Health Redmond.

Mrs. Bertram was born January 18, 1936, in Ashville, NC, daughter of the late Melvin and Lillian Putnam Biggs. She was retired from the real estate industry where she had worked as an agent and broker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Bertram; children, Dianne Hamrick, Deborah Emeott, and James Dale Flynn.

Survivors include her daughters Delores Russo and Donna (Jay) Stoudt; a sister, Lena Elliott; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Ana Flynn.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. (GA Time) Sunday, September 3, 2023, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel

There will be a gathering of family and friends from 1:00 P.M. (GA Time) until the hour of service on Sunday.

Kevin Lee Minard, Obit (M)

Mr. Kevin Lee Minard, age 44, of Summerville, GA, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023, in Rome, GA.

Mr. Minard was born October 25, 1978, in Rome, GA, son of Bobby and Sheila Jones Minard. He attended Lyerly Pentecostal Tabernacle and was employed with Mohawk. He enjoyed woodworking, welding, and could also play guitar as well as other multiple instruments.

Survivors include his sons, Nathan Minard, Tucker Minard; daughter, Kaitlin (Jacob) Brewster; parents, Bobby and Sheila Minard; a brother, Tommy Minard; grandchild, Isaac Brewster; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Minard will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, August 31, 2023, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with
Rev. Don Mason officiating. Interment will follow in Johnson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Quinton Jones, Adam Jones, Matthew Jones, Austin Jones, Jacob Brewster, and Levi Smith.

Mr. Minard will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Thursday.

Jillian A. Durgin, Obit (M)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jillian Ann Durgin on Saturday, August 26, 2023. Tragically, Jillian was involved in a car accident near her home in Rome, GA, and did not survive. Our hearts are broken by this news as we know many of yours are as well.

Jillian was an artistic and creative soul who was very passionate about her beliefs and dreams. She was a friend and inspiration to many people around the world. Jillian leaves behind a legacy of art spanning more than 25 years including accomplishments in music, acting, modeling, styling, photography, and fashion. In addition to her many achievements, her work as a founder and visionary of RITUAL has been featured in the international fashion press including Vogue Portugal, Vogue Ukraine, Vogue Brasil, Teen Vogue, Marie Claire, Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam, British GQ Style, Rolling Stone Online and many more. After more than a decade of dedication to her fashion dreams, The RITUAL Creation Team now spans across the world, as does the community of creative and inspired people Jillian cultivated throughout her life’s work.

Jillian was preceded in death by her grandparents, Allen Clifford and Shirley E. Durgin; Harry, Jr. and Marylin Spinsby; and an aunt, Donna Durgin.

Jillian is survived by her parents, Paul and Laurie Durgin; two brothers; one sister; four nephews; 1 niece; and countless friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Jillian’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 2, 2023, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mac McCurry and Rev. Clyde Hampton officiating.

There will be a gathering of family and friends at Mason Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Saturday.

Mrs. Marsha Carol Warren Farris age 75 of Winston Salem, NC (formerly of Summerville, GA) passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at a North Carolina healthcare facility.

Mrs. Farris was born February 25, 1948 in Summerville, GA to the late Belton D. Warren and Florentine S. Cochran Warren. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed Cooking and working puzzle books.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Sidney L. Farris; daughter, Jodi Cook; and siblings, Billy Warren, James Warren, Jackie Warren, and Nancy Warren.

Survivors include her sons, Carl Farris, Sidney Farris, and James Farris; brother, William Warren, sisters, Martha Reece, Barbara (Hank) Barnes, and Darlene Gilley; sister-in-law, Nancy Warren; along with several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside and interment services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Farris will take place at 11:00 AM Monday, August 28, 2023 at Johnson Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Shavers officiating. Pallbearers will be Hank Barnes, Gary Blankenship, Chuck Cox, James Warren, and Justin Stone.

There will be no visitation.
