The Trion Bulldogs are looking to build on last week’s season opening 56-14 win over arch rival Gordon Lee with a second straight home game tonight against the Lafayette Ramblers. Trion opened the season ranked 10th in the AJC Class A rankings and moved to #9 after last week’s victory. Lafayette is 1-0 on the season after a win at home last week against Chattooga 28-3.

MRS. CHERYL GREEN, age 61, of Smith Rail Road, Summerville, Georgia, passed away Monday, August 21, 2023, at her residence following an extended illness. A native of Trion, Georgia, She was born to the late Robert and Jeanette Dollar Wood on June 19, 1962. For many years Cheryl worked in the health care field, at Chattooga County Hospital and Atriun Health Floyd Medical Center, as a Xray and Laboratory Technician and Emergency Medical Technician. In addition to Her Parents, was preceded in death by husband the late Marty Ray Green and brother, the late Tony Wood.
Surviving are daughter, Erica and Brandon Fountain; son, Heath and Savannah McGuire; step daughter, Marti Green; brother, Roger and Kerry Wood; granddaughters, Ansley Ratliff, Isabella McGuire, Olivia McGuire, Gabbie McGuire, and Annie Fountain; several Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 23rd, from 4 until 6 P.M. at the Earle Rainwater Funeral Home; interment will be 6:30 P.M. Wednesday in the Perennial Springs Cemetery, with Phil McGuire voicing the final prayer. Active Pallbearers Heath McGuire, Brandon Fountain, Roger Wood, Billy Clark, Clark Wood, and Ryan Wood; Honorary Pallbearers Staff of Tapestry Hospice and the Atriun Health Floyd Infusion Lab.

There will be a Labor Day Gospel Fest on Monday September 4th from 10am until 2pm Eastern time at the Cloudland Community Park. The event is sponsored by the Cloudland Volunteer Fire Department.
