Mr. David Loyd Hall, Obit (M)

Mr. David Loyd Hall, age 80, of Gaylesville, AL, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at his residence.

Mr. Hall was born July 18, 1942, in Mentone, AL, son of the late Oscar Yuel and Eula Carrol Hall.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons, David Hall, Samuel Hall; 4 brothers; 3 sisters; and grandchildren, Kimberly Whitake and Timothy Hall.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Mason Hall; sons, Timothy Hall, Daniel (Tammy) Hall; daughters, Darlene (Chris) Butts, Shirley (Wayne) Stancil, Anna (Jeff) Smith, Anita (Ronald) Dunn, Suzanne (Philip) Hudgins, Patty (Tom) Bullard; a brother, Ronnie Hall; 24 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. (E.S.T.) Thursday, September 1, 2022, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Freddie Waldrop officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Levi Stanfield, Clay Hall, Travis Stancil, John Terry Whitaker, Joshua Whitaker, and Jeffery Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Hudson and David M. Hall.

Mr. Hall will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon (E.S.T.) until the hour of service on Thursday.

Mr. Phillip David Mountain, Obit (M)

Mr. Phillip David Mountain, age 61, of Rome, GA, died Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at his residence.

Mr. Mountain was born June 1, 1961, in Rome, GA, son of the late Clifford and Ava Norton Mountain. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was employed as an environmental specialist with Gerdau Steel Mill.

Survivors include his son, David (Aspen) Mountain; daughters, Amber Hines and Claire Mountain; sister, Jeannie (Jerry) Wilson; and 3 grandchildren.

A private graveside services will be held at a later date.

Mr. Fred Bennie White, Obit (M)

Mr. Fred Bennie White, age 79, of Menlo, GA, died Monday, August 29, 2022, at his residence.

Mr. White was born August 3, 1943, in Summerville, GA, son of the late James and Lottie McNeese White. Mr. White enjoyed watching his Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs. He also loved riding around on any back road he could find.  Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Mohawk as a Crew Leader.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Henry White, Johnny Lee White, Bobby James White, and Billy White.

Survivors include his son, Kevin (Tammy) White; a daughter, Keitha Vaughan; sisters, Betty Jo (Phil) Rogers, Shirley Culberson, and Gail Anderson; grandchildren, Jessica (John) Ware, Maci Tucker, Alex Tucker, and Jacob Vaughan; great-grandchildren, Annslee Tucker and Addie Mae Ware.

Funeral services for Mr. White will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, September 2, 2022, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joel Smith officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope South Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jacob Vaughan, Alex Tucker, John Tucker, Lamar Spraggins, John Ware, Mick Allen.

Mr. White will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Friday.

Pentecostal Power Ministries is having a Car Show & Fall Festival on October 8, 2022 from 11:00am to 4:00pm at Angus McLeod Memorial Park in Lyerly.  Some of the activities included are the Car Show, Fall Festival, Cornhole tournament, Art & Crafts and Food vendors and much more.  There will be live music with the group, Saved By Grace.

Mr. James Julian “Cat” Williams, Obit (C)

Mr. James Julian “Cat” Williams, age 84 of Trion, Georgia passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022 at a Rome hospital.

Mr. Williams was born in Trion, Georgia on September 24, 1937, son of the late John Henry Williams and Pauline Ware Williams. He was retired from the Cloth Room at Mt. Vernon Mills.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and watching baseball. In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Cabe.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Betty Louise Williams; step children, Rickey and Melinda Tucker and Trena and Denny Strickland; sister, Shirley Woodall; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Ann Williams; grandchildren, Matthew Cabe, Amy and Steve Helms and Jason and Selena Tucker; 5 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Williams will be held Monday, August 29, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Spears officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Jason Tucker, Rickey Tucker, David Lloyd, Cecil Watkins, Alvin Grogan and Steve Helms.

Mr. Williams will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 2:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.
