Everything’s coming up candy and pumpkins in downtown Summerville on Saturday, October 29. Summerville Main Street will team up with the Summerville Trion Optimist Club to present a Pumpkin Palooza with Pumpkin Derby and the Halloween Candy Walk! This fall celebration will be held down the East Washington Streetscape to the Summerville Depot. Hours for the Pumpkin Palooza will run from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Vendors will be on hand with a variety of foods, crafts, and retail for the public’s pleasure. Georgia’s Net Revenues Up In September

Governor Brian P. Kemp announced Friday that Georgia’s September net tax collections totaled almost $3.1 billion for an increase of $279.2 million, or 9.9 percent, compared to FY 2022 when net tax collections approached $2.82 billion. Year-to-date, net tax revenue collections totaled roughly $7.62 billion for an increase of $513.8 million, or 7.2 percent, through the end of this quarter.

COVID Cases Jump In Chattooga County

According to the latest numbers from the Georgia Department of Public Health, there were twenty new COVID-19 cases reported over the past week in Chattooga County.  That was up from two cases reported the previous reporting period.  Across the state, there were eight-seven COVID-19 deaths across the state over the past week.  There were ten COVID-19 cases being treated at Atrium Health Floyd and three patients being treated for COVID-19 at Advent Health Redmond this past week.  New statistics are released weekly on Wednesday from the Georgia Department of Public Health.
