Georgia gas prices continue to decline at the pump compared to a week ago. Georgia drivers are now paying an average price of $3.63 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline (subject to change overnight). Monday’s state average was 14 cents less than a week ago, 63 cents less than last month, and 66 cents more than this time last year.

Georgians experiencing a mental health or addiction crisis now have a new hotline they can call for help. The 988 number is designed to quickly connect callers to trained telephone counselors who can triage the caller’s needs and secure additional phone or in-person mental health resources if needed.

Mountain View Woman Arrested After Altercation

A Mountain View woman was arrested last week after she was accused of battery under the Family Violence Act.  According to a report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office released late last week, deputies responded after a call regarding a domestic in progress.  When they arrived on the scene, the complainant said that his wife had been drinking and had assaulted him during a confrontation over allowing dogs to mate.  The complainant said that the woman didn’t want the dogs mating and had become violent.  Deputies observed scratches on the complainant and saw video of the assault that was taken by a witness.  Vanessa West was arrested and charged with battery under the Family Violence Act and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail on Monday of last week.
