Mr. Milton Lewis Pearsey, age 86, of Gaylesville, AL, died Monday, May 23, 2022, at Cherokee Medical Center.

A woman came to the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office last week to report the loss of a handgun. Jackie Dean told a deputy that her son, Kenneth Partion, had an accident on Silver Hill Road and lost a handgun during the accident. Deputies went to the area on Silver Hill Road in the Gore Community and conducted a search for the missing handgun, but could not locate the weapon. The accident happened on May 14th, according to the complainant. The pistol was a Springfield Hellcat 9MM. The lost firearm has been entered into the statewide data base.
Georgia gas prices increased at the pump compared to a week ago. Georgia motorists are now paying an average price of $4.15 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline. Monday’s state average was 17 cents more than a week ago, 43 cents more than last month and $1.22 more than this time last year.
