The Georgia Department of Transportation is advising motorist that a portion of Highway 157 near the Tennessee State Line will be closed as they work to stabilize the roadway on Lookout Mountain. Highway 157 ends in Chattooga County at a junction to Highway 48 at the caution light at Cloudland and starts on Lookout Mountain at the state line with Tennessee.

The Summerville City Council will hold a called meeting on Monday afternoon. The meeting is being held for the council to discuss the proposed entertainment district in downtown Summerville. Also the council will be discussing the distilled spirits ordinance. The meeting will get underway at 5 PM and the public is invited to attend.
