Detectives with the Juvenile Division of the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Paulding County mother and father on April 14, 2022, for the murder of their four-week-old infant. They are currently being held in the Paulding County Jail with an assorted list of charges.

The GBI has been called in to assist in an investigation after an officer-involved shooting in Gordon County.

Recently, Governor Brian Kemp signed a bill into law that makes it legal for most people to carry a concealed firearm without a license. Supporters say it protects the 2nd Amendment, but one pro-gun group said the law is dangerous.

Summerville Police responded to a property damage call over the weekend. According to a report, a landlord that rents a mobile home on Susie Lane told police that she has been having problems with a juvenile shooting windows with a BB gun. The renter told police that she had swept up a BB recently, but hadn’t noticed the damage to the window on the front of the mobile home. The landlord said that she wanted a report on file about the incident.

In Georgia, 1 in 7 people live with food insecurity – not knowing where their next meal will come from. There’s Hope for the Hungry is a Christian ministry, founded in prayer in 2003 and committed to evangelizing and feeding people who are in need. The group is active in Chattooga County and will be distributing food this week in Summerville.

Gas prices continue to decline at the pump compared to a week ago. Georgia motorists are now paying an average price of $3.70 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline. Monday’s state average was 6 cents less than a week ago, 54 cents less than last month and $1.00 more than this time last year.
