Floyd County Police say a Centre, Alabama woman used an ax to smash her way into a residence on Fosters Mill Road in Cave Spring.

A Summerville man was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Tuesday, charged with a single count of felony theft by taking and two misdemeanor counts of theft by taking.
According to the arrest warrants, 25-year old Javan Levi Cox took catalytic converters from vehicles on Martha Berry Highway, Selman Road, and Lindsey Road in the Armuchee area.
The alleged thefts occurred on February 22.

Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced Thursday that Jimmy M. Gowan, 19, was arrested in connection with a Chattooga County fire. The suspect is being charged with Arson in the 1st Degree, Burglary, and Criminal Damage in the 2nd Degree.
A Holy Week candlelight Tenebrae Service will be presented at Horizon Baptist Fellowship on Sunday, April 10, at 6:00 PM. The service will feature the adult choir’s presentation of “Who Is Jesus?”. This musical will carry you through the entire life of Christ and culminates with the crucifixion story.
Also, on Easter Sunday, April 17, at 11:00 AM, the children and youth of Horizon will present the musical “Christ the Lord is Risen Today.”

Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry released a bid request for EMS service for the county on Thursday.

On March 15, a 38-year-old Dalton man was convicted for the attempted molestation of four minor females that took place in July 2021. On March 10, 2022, Judge Ralph Van Pelt sentenced Carlos Fenelli to a total of 15 years, with the first four years to be served in prison. Fenelli will be required to register annually as a sex offender following his release from prison.

Multiple fire departments responded to a fire at Valley View Ranch at Cloudland on Wednesday. Fire officials say that nearby houses were in danger of the fire. No structures were lost in the fire. Fire departments responding included Cloudland, Hayes Correctional, Teloga, Menlo and Walker County.
