The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) Drug Surveillance Unit has received increased reports of overdoses due to drugs mixed with fentanyl, particularly cocaine, methamphetamine, and counterfeit pills. Overdoses have been reported in several areas of the state over the past month.

Summerville Police were called to a domestic dispute on Highway 48 on Monday. Police arrested twenty-six-year-old Kristen Williams after they say she refused to stop screaming. Police say that after speaking with Williams she went back inside a residence and continued to scream and curse at the occupants of the house. Williams was charged with disorderly conduct and booked into the Chattooga County Jail.

Floyd County Police say a Centre, Alabama woman used an ax to smash her way into a residence on Fosters Mill Road in Cave Spring.
A Summerville man was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Tuesday, charged with a single count of felony theft by taking and two misdemeanor counts of theft by taking.
According to the arrest warrants, 25-year old Javan Levi Cox took catalytic converters from vehicles on Martha Berry Highway, Selman Road, and Lindsey Road in the Armuchee area.
The alleged thefts occurred on February 22.
Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced Thursday that Jimmy M. Gowan, 19, was arrested in connection with a Chattooga County fire. The suspect is being charged with Arson in the 1st Degree, Burglary, and Criminal Damage in the 2nd Degree.
A Holy Week candlelight Tenebrae Service will be presented at Horizon Baptist Fellowship on Sunday, April 10, at 6:00 PM. The service will feature the adult choir’s presentation of “Who Is Jesus?”. This musical will carry you through the entire life of Christ and culminates with the crucifixion story.
Also, on Easter Sunday, April 17, at 11:00 AM, the children and youth of Horizon will present the musical “Christ the Lord is Risen Today.”
