Mrs. Bernice Grubbs Little, age 84 of Summerville, GA passed away Wednesday- January 19, 2022 at her residence. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced by Mason Funeral Home.

An Airport Road, Trion couple got a surprise when they returned home from an extended stay in Alabama. David Kelller and Ladonya Cooley called the sheriff’s office when they discovered that while they were in Alabama, someone had moved into their house.

There are a lot of people in Chattooga County who have had COVID-19. The latest numbers show over 4,500 residents have been affected by the coronavirus. WZQZ talked with public information director Logan Boss with the Northwest Health District of the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH).
AAA recognizes 2021 was a challenging year for law enforcement agencies and traffic safety organizations across the state of Georgia, as they attempted to equip their organizations with much-needed traffic safety resources. In response, AAA established a traffic safety grant program which provided these organizations with an opportunity to submit requests for grant assistance.
A Summerville man arranged to meet with a sheriff’s deputy in front of the courthouse in Summerville to report fraudulent charges to his Peach State Federal Credit Union debit card. The complainant told the deputy when he attempted to make a purchase, he was told his account didn’t have sufficient funds. After reviewing his account, the complainant said that 29 different transactions with Amazon were showing up on his account – transactions he didn’t make. The charges began on January 3rd of this year and continued until the man made the complaint on Tuesday of this week. In all, $2,257.42 had been stolen. The complainant needed a report to have the situation dealt with by the credit union. The case was turned over to an investigator with the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office.
State Senator Jeff Mullis has continued speaking out about what he views as unfairness from the Georgia High School Athletics (GHSA) association. Mullis has filed two bills that would create a new nonprofit governing body for high school athletics.
