Coronavirus Continues To Claim Victims In Georgia

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that the coronavirus continued its onslaught across Georgia on New Year’s Eve as officials reported thousands of new cases due to the omicron variant. The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) on Friday reported 24,320 confirmed and probable coronavirus infections, the second-highest total of the pandemic.

Advancing Cold Front To Bring Storms & A Few Flurries Possible

After another round of thunderstorms last night due to an advancing cold front, we are going to see temperatures falling throughout our Sunday and by tonight, we have the chance for a few snow showers.  Most of the moisture will be moved to the east by the time the coldest air makes its way into Northeast Alabama and Northwest Georgia.  Higher elevations, such as Mentone, Alabama and Cloudland, Georgia could see more snow showers – perhaps starting earlier in the day.  The big news is the cold air that is on the way.  As we start the first work week of 2022, we will see highs only in the upper 40’s on Monday and overnight lows in the lower 20’s.
