Overnight Chase After Attempted Traffic Stop

An attempted traffic stop on Jamestown Road just south of Menlo in Cherokee County, Alabama on Monday night,  resulted in a police chase that wound up in Chattooga County, Georgia.  Reports indicate that Cherokee County deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver of a 2014 Dodge Avenger took off and at some point reached speeds near 100 miles per hour.  The chase went up Highway 48 to Cloudland.   Scanner information indicated that the woman driver of the vehicle ditched the car and fled from officers on foot on Mississippi Avenue at Cloudland. WZQZ will have more information on the chase as details become available.
