Authorities Still Seeking Information About Mt. Vernon Mill Fire

A fire in October at Mount Vernon Mills in Trion is still under investigation by local and state authorities.  The fire on October 30th brought in over 100 firefighters from Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee.  State Insurance and Fire Commissioner John King is offering a $10,000 reward for information regarding the suspicious fire.  Meanwhile, cleanup has begun at the mill.  Last week professional fire recovery teams were at the mill.  According to the state fire marshal, the fire was arson and caused millions of dollars worth of damage to the mill which has been in operation for one hundred-eighty-one years.  Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-282-5804.
