A thirteen-year-old Coosa student has died from COVID-19.
The Town of Trion Business Office, Maintenance, Gas Department and Recreation Department will be closed on Monday, September 6, 2021 for Labor Day.
Both the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office and Ringgold Police Department are investigating the death of 54-year-old therapy counselor Glenn Fraser.
Chattooga County School Supt. Jared Hosmer said on Wednesday afternoon that Chattooga High School will remain closed through Friday. Students will return on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. See Supt. Hosmer’s statement below:
Mrs. Dawn Renee Bernabe Drake, age 59, of Gaylesville, AL, died Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Attendance for the 2021 Chattooga County Agricultural Fair was 6,523. This attendance number is down compared to 8,360 in 2019. The Fair Council feels this decrease in attendance of 1,837 is due to the recent surge in Covid-19 cases in the county. However, the Livestock Show entries continue to grow year over year.
Ms. Neita Faye Hartline Crowe, age 67, of Trion, GA, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Oakview Health and Rehabilitation.
The CHS volleyball team has added a game against Gaylesville, Alabama which is scheduled for tomorrow, September 2nd. JV will play at 5:00 pm with Varsity to follow at approximately 6:00 pm. Also, just a reminder that the CHS softball team will also be playing at home tomorrow as well versus Coosa with the first pitch scheduled for 5:30 pm.
