The budget workshop scheduled for the Town of Trion has been postponed until Tuesday, August 3, 2021. The meeting will be held at the Trion Town Hall Conference Room at 6 PM. The purpose of the workshop is to discuss the upcoming fiscal-year budget for the Town of Trion.

Some Walker County property owners could see a tax hike after the Walker County School Board decided not to roll back the millage rate for its portion of the 2021 property taxes.
There was some stiff competition for the companies that had submitted applications to get a license from the State of Georgia to produce low-THC cannabis. Over the past weekend the Georgia Cannabis Commission was tasked with awarding six licenses out of sixty-nine companies that submitted applications.
North Georgia EMC is getting “scammer” reports in the area. They have demanded that NGEMC members drive to a grocery chain and purchase a prepaid card to make their payment… even going so far as keeping the members on the line while they are going to purchase the cards. Other members have reported receiving multiple threatening calls over a period of about 15 minutes.
The Georgia State Patrol is asking for your vote. Each year, the American Association of State Troopers has a “Best Looking Cruiser Contest” and the Georgia State Patrol wants the public to vote for their cruiser in this year’s contest.
