Here is the latest arrest report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office for Sunday, July 26, 2020:
Authorities have arrested a man that they believe is responsible for the robbery of several CVS Pharmacies across Northwest Georgia – including the CVS Pharmacy in Summerville.
The total number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise in Chattooga County. The latest numbers from the Georgia Department of Public Health show that the total is now at 134 cases. That’s up from just over 80 last week.
The Georgia High School Association announced last week that group-size restrictions for fall sports would be lifted and locker rooms and showers could now be used for football, provided they were sanitized before and after use.
Out of a abundance of caution the offices at Trion town hall will be closed from Monday July 27 through Friday July 31, 2020. The Recreation center will also be closed from Saturday July 25 through Sunday August 2, 2020. Payments to the town can be placed in the drop box at the north end of the parking lot beside the police garage. The town Maintenance department and Gas department wiill be open and garbage routes will be ran on regular schedule.
Georgia Democratic Senate candidate Jon Ossoff is in isolation as is his wife, who contracted COVID-19, Ossoff confirmed Saturday.
