Chattooga County Churches Providing Free Food

Two Chattooga County churches are continuing efforts to fight food insecurity by providing free food to the community through the “There’s Hope for the Hungry” nonprofit program.

South Summerville Baptist Church, located at 440 Highway 48, hosts food distribution on the third Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Central Avenue Baptist Church in Trion, located at 14074 Highway 27, offers distribution on the second Thursday of each month, also from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Organizers say all food must be picked up in person.

The mission of “There’s Hope for the Hungry” is to increase disciples of Jesus Christ while also working to reduce food insecurity across North Georgia.

Community members in need are encouraged to take advantage of these monthly opportunities.
