The Chattooga High School Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) program is pleased to announce its seventh annual Cupid’s Bliss Ball, a father-daughter dance on February 10 from 6 to 8 p. m. in the school cafeteria. Tickets cost $25 per couple, with an extra $5 for each additional girl. Guests can enjoy food, games, prizes, and dancing. This event not only allows fathers and daughters to bond, but all proceeds will help HOSA students prepare for state-level medical competitions. Tickets are available now from Chattooga High School HOSA members, and families are encouraged to buy them early to enjoy a fun evening.
The Community Resource Center is excited to announce its upcoming event, the “Zero to Hero: Health Kickoff Dinner,” taking place on Tuesday, January 28th, from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Chattooga Agricultural Center. Summerville Montessori School is now taking registrations for its Pre-K Preparatory (private pay) and state-funded Pre-K programs for the 2025-26 academic year. Menlo Lions Club has postponed their Brunswick Stew sale due to the inclement weather expected this weekend. The stew sale will be held the following weekend.
The Summerville Parks and Recreation Department has officially started registration for spring sports. This season introduces a Spring Volleyball program for youth, running from mid-March to mid-May 2025, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The program is for age groups 9/10, 11/12, and 13/14, featuring eight regular games and playoffs. Registration is open from January 1 to February 9, 2025, for $10, with late registration from February 10 to 16 for $20. The Trion Recreation Department will start registration for spring sports tomorrow, Monday, January 6, 2025. This is a great chance for young athletes to be active, learn skills, and enjoy competition. Sports offered include Co-Ed T-ball for ages 3 and 4, Co-Ed Coach Pitch for ages 5 and 6, and baseball and softball for ages 7 to 12.
