Summerville’s first ‘Cowboy Western Heritage Festival’ is coming to the Summerville depot tomorrow, Sept. 2 from 9 AM to 4 PM. Civil War history buffs will want to take notice of a program that which will highlight Chattooga County’s role in the historic battle of Chickamauga.
Guest speaker James Ogden, Chickamauga National Battlefield’s Historian, will be on hand for a round table type discussion and a 10′ X 10′ map outlining the area and events that led up to the battle. Bring lots of questions and if you have family Civil War memorabilia that you have questions about you are welcome to bring that as well.
The program will be held on Saturday, August 26 at 2 PM.
