Musicians and singers and those that enjoy country, bluegrass, gospel and old-time music are invited to an event that will be held from 4 – 7 PM at Dowdy Park this Saturday, August 13th.
The Northwest Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross seeks volunteers to do disaster work, office administration and community outreach at health fairs and other events in Chattooga, Dade, Catoosa, Gordon, Murray, Walker, Whitfield counties. Tina Lee and Chattooga Curtain Call will present Disney’s Frozen Junior on Friday and Saturday August 5th and 6th at the North Summerville Baptist Church.
Fall sports registration got underway this past week at the Summerville Recreation Center and will continue through August 13, 2022.
The Lyerly Recreation Department is holding sign-ups for 10 and under girls volleyball. This will be the only age group the Lyerly Rec will have for volleyball. The age control date is September 1, 2022. The sign-up fee is $15 and the last day to sign up for volleyball at the Lyerly Rec will be Friday, August 12, 2022. Registration will take place at Lyerly Town Hall Monday-Friday from 8 AM until 4:15 PM.
Center Post Community Center will host its free music night on Saturday July 16 and will begin at 7 PM. They will have Vernon Greeson as well as Open Heart Harmony performing on stage. Everyone is welcome to attend. The Community Center is located at 8125 Highway 337 LaFayette, Georgia.
Chattooga Football Coach Shawn Peek has announced the Youth Football Camp that will be held at Chattooga High School coming up July 18th, 19th and 21st. The event is open for children ages 8-13 and is free to attend. The camp will take place from 5 PM-6:30 PM. Email speek@chattooga.k12.ga.us with any questions.
Families are invited to the Summer Reading Event at Menlo Elementary School. The event is held each Wednesday’s – June 22, 29 and July 13th. The program last from 8 AM until noon at the Menlo School Media Center. The event is open to the general public and summer camp students.
A Trion Youth Football Camp will be held in July at Sam R. McCain Stadium. The cost is $30 per camper and T-shirt is included. Registration is going on now, or you can register the day of camp. The camp will instruct youth ages 5-13 and will teach skills and drills and feature instruction from Trion Coaches and Trion Bulldog Football Players. The camp will be held July 20, 21, 22 from 6 PM until 7:30 PM.
