Center Post Community Center located at 8125 HWY 337 LaFayette, GA will host a free music night Saturday June 18 beginning at 7 pm. They will have Aimee Wilson as well as Instruments of Grace performing on stage. Concessions will be available for purchase. Everyone is invited to attend.
The North Georgia Cruisers are planning a car show in September of this year. The group that raises money for Christmas gifts for Chattooga County children has been sidelined over the past couple of years due to the pandemic, but they are back and planning a car and truck show.
The American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive coming up on Wednesday June 8, 2022 at the Chattooga County Civic Center in Summerville, located across from Truist Bank on Highway 48 (the Menlo Highway).
The Chattooga County Library has announced the Summer Reading Program which begins on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. This year kids, teens and adults have more opportunities to earn prizes and complete the program. Participants need to earn five of the ten offered badges. Badges can be earned by reading, attending library programs, participating in craft or STEAM events, exploring the library’s digital databases, or by writing book reviews. Find more information HERE
If you have a pet that needs vaccinating, you will have your chance to get that task marked off your list in May when the Summerville Veterinary Clinic will have their rabies clinic. The event will take place at Chattooga High School from 9 AM until 4:30 PM on Saturday, May 21st. You don’t have to have an appointment, just show up at the high school. Celebrate Mom this Mother’s Day with live music and an outdoor picnic at Paradise Garden in Summerville on Saturday, May 7, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on the outdoor lawn. The live music will be from 1-3 p.m. weather permitting.
During the month of April for child abuse awareness month, Lookout Mountain CASA is offering drop in trainings regardless of completed application status. If you are interested, the training is in person at 901 North Main Street, Lafayette, GA on Mon, Tues, Thurs 10- 1 or 1:30 – 4pm. This drop in training is only for the month of April, we can do an initial training, regardless of application status.
