Chattooga Middle School girls basketball tryouts will be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week. Middle School students from Summerville Middle School, Lyerly and Menlo are welcome to tryout. Students will need to have a physical and a copy of insurance on file. Tryouts will be from 4 PM – 6 PM each day.
Toys for Tots will be having registration / sign-up for Christmas toys on Saturday October 15th and November 12th at the Fairway Recreation center, 81 Senior Drive in Summerville. Time is 9:00 am until 12 noon on both days. Last day to sign up is November 12. The child must reside in your home and be in your custody in order to sign them up with Toys for Tots. The Chattooga County Extension Service will be hosting a program on the “ABC’s of pruning trees” on October 27, 2022 at 5-6 pm. A trained arborist will be there to help attendees learn all of the facts for safe and beautiful pruning practices. The event is open to the public.
Country and Gospel Music Hall of Fame and Grand Ole Opry member William Lee Golden and his sons ‘The Goldens’ are set to appear at The GEM Theatre in Calhoun, Georgia on Saturday, September 24 at 7:30 pm.
The Subligna Community Center will have a Fundraiser on Saturday September 24th from 11:00am to 3pm at the Subligna Community Center. A barbeque lunch will be served and the North Georgia Cruisers will be there with some beautiful cars. The public is invited to attend.
A newly formed veterans group, the Veterans Committee of Georgia, is meeting at the Lafayette library on the 3rd Thursday of each month. They are a group made up of veterans & their families. They would like to invite anyone who would like to join or just like more information to come to a meeting.
Center Post Community Center will host its free music night on Saturday September 17th and will begin at 7pm. They will have Instruments of Grace as well as For Love or Money performing on stage. Everyone is welcome to attend. The Community Center is located at 8125 Highway 337 in LaFayette, Georgia.
