Menlo Lions Club will be making their famous Brunswick Stew on the 14th of January. Pickup will be Saturday Morning between 7 and 10 am at Menlo School. Prices will be 8 dollars a quart or 30 dollars a gallon. Thanks for the support of Menlo Lions Club.
The Chattooga County Historical Society is planning its first meeting of the year for this coming weekend. The group will meet on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at 2 PM at The Summerville Depot. Historian Jim Day will be addressing the group and be speaking about life in Chattooga County in 1860. The Chattooga County Historical Society’s meetings are free and open to the public.
Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States. The Chattooga County Extension Office invites you to virtually learn about this gas, where it comes from and preventive measures. All webinar participants will receive a FREE Radon Test for their home which will be mailed to them following the session. No limit on participants.
The Chattooga County Young Farmers will be hosting a holiday wreath-making class coming up in December.
The Menlo Lions Club will be making their famous Brunswick Stew on the 12th of November and Pick up will be Sat morning on the 13th between 7 and 10 am. Location for pick up will be at the Menlo School Cafeteria. Since prices have gone up recently, the Menlo Lions Club has had to raise the price of stew to $30 a gallon or $8 a quart. The stew sales helps the Menlo Lions Club give $500 scholarships to Chattooga High School students who are going off to college next fall. Menlo Elementary School will once again hold their annual Veterans Day ceremony at the school this coming Thursday. Veterans Day is held each year on November 11th. It marks the day World War One ended, at 11 AM on the 11th day of the 11th month, back in 1918.
