The Trion High School Marching Band announces their Fall Fundraiser “Fill your freezer fundraiser”. For $20 you get a chance to win 1/2 a locally raised cow processed and ready for your freezer. There will be 2 winners who each win one half of a cow. They are only selling 550 tickets so supply is limited. See a Pride Of Trion band member to purchase your ticket before they are all gone.
The drawing will be November 17th and pick up will be Nov 22 or 23 at the Trion band room.
The Center Post Community Center will host its free music night this Saturday August 20th and will begin at 7 PM. Center Post Community Center will welcome New Grass Express as well as Dr. Ted Scoggins performing on stage. Everyone is welcome to attend. Musicians and singers and those that enjoy country, bluegrass, gospel and old-time music are invited to an event that will be held from 4 – 7 PM at Dowdy Park this Saturday, August 13th.
The Northwest Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross seeks volunteers to do disaster work, office administration and community outreach at health fairs and other events in Chattooga, Dade, Catoosa, Gordon, Murray, Walker, Whitfield counties. Tina Lee and Chattooga Curtain Call will present Disney’s Frozen Junior on Friday and Saturday August 5th and 6th at the North Summerville Baptist Church.
Fall sports registration got underway this past week at the Summerville Recreation Center and will continue through August 13, 2022.
The Lyerly Recreation Department is holding sign-ups for 10 and under girls volleyball. This will be the only age group the Lyerly Rec will have for volleyball. The age control date is September 1, 2022. The sign-up fee is $15 and the last day to sign up for volleyball at the Lyerly Rec will be Friday, August 12, 2022. Registration will take place at Lyerly Town Hall Monday-Friday from 8 AM until 4:15 PM.
