Gun Reported Stolen From Vehicle At Cloudland

A complainant reported the theft of a firearm last Saturday to the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office.  According to a report released yesterday, Joshua Goss told a responding deputy that he stopped at the Mountain Top Store at Cloudland and went inside the store.  When he came back out, a gun was missing from his vehicle.  Goss told the deputy that two men had pulled up in a vehicle with Alabama tags.  One of the men came inside the store and the other remained outside.  Suspecting that the man who was outside had taken the gun from his vehicle, Goss asked the man if he had indeed taken the firearm.  Goss said the man said “what gun?” and was acting odd.  The stolen firearm was entered into the statewide data base and the incident was turned over to an investigator.
