Second Baptist Church To Host Mother & Son Dance Saturday May 27th

Chattooga Schools Spring Concert This Wednesday

Camp New Dawn Seeks Volunteers

Camp New Dawn, located in McLemore Cove in Walker County, is seeking hires and volunteers for this summer. Opportunities include cabin (air-conditioned) counselors, camp nurse, lifeguard and co-program director for those finishing high School or older. Teens 16-18 may enroll in the Servant Adventure Leadership program as support staff and be eligible to attend Cove Adventure Camp at no charge. Other volunteer positions for adults are available in the kitchen and assisting with activities. Trion Accepting Bids On Playground Equipment

The Town of Trion is accepting bids for new playground equipment and the labor to install the equipment.  According to a bid notice from the Town of Trion, bids must contain individual prices for each of the pieces of playground equipment and a separate bid for the installation.  The town is looking to install new swings, slides and climbing equipment.  The bids are being accepted until April 25, 2023 at noon.  The Town of Trion says that they will have the right to reject any or all bids.

 

Thief Flees After Homeowner Approaches Him

Summerville Police say that a man approached a would-be thief on his property earlier this month and the suspect fled the scene.  According to a report from the Summerville Police Department, the incident happened on April 13th when the complainant came home to his residence on Dowdy Drive and found a Chrysler PT Cruiser parked in his yard.  The driver of the vehicle admitted that he was there to steal, but claimed it was someone else’s idea for him to steal from the complainant.  The thief did make off with about $1,000 worth of items.  The incident was turned over to an investigator with the Summerville Police Department.
