Over the past weekend, the Georgia Department of Corrections announced that eight prison inmates at Walker State Prison in Rock Spring earned on the job training certificates in Animal Care Taking as Animal Trainers. A ceremony was held at the correctional facility to recognize the offenders for their achievement.

A thirty-two-year-old Chattooga County woman was arrested last week in Walker County on an outstanding warrant. According to the Walker County Sheriff’s Office, Pamela Michelle Simpson of Summerville, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with the outstanding warrant for theft by deception.

The main item on the agenda for the meeting is to conduct interviews with the three finalists for the City Manager position. The three being interviewed will be the interim city manager, Andrea Surratt along with Philip Robinett, who has worked as city manager in Charleston, Missouri and former Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters.
