Mr. David Lynn Langston, age 65, of Rome, GA died Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Langston was born June 20, 1945 in Trion, GA, the son of the late Jake "JC" and Bessie Lee Gilreath Langston. He was retired from G & W Electric. Mr. Langston was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. He enjoyed motorcycles, and building and flying his own airplane. He enjoyed outdoors with family and friends, and grandkids and great grandkids.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eula Mae Langston; brothers, Ralph Langston, Jim Langston, Ronald Langston, and Andy Langston; and a sister, Joyce Mitchell.

Survivors include his children, David Lynn Langston, Jr.& wife, Connie Langston, Jared Deforest Langston, Eugene Thomas Langston, Michelle Dawn Norton, & husband, Jerry Norton; sisters,Ruby Eller, Nell Thomas, and Sybil Shields; brothers, Charles Langston, Joe Langston, Larry Langston, Steve Langston, and George "Jeep" Langston; 10 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren; and a number of Nieces and Nephews.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Old Trion Cemetery with Rev. Billy Wright officiating. Active pallbearers will be Sean Langston, Brandon Norton, Josh Dover, Ethan Bradley,and Bo Ray Blackmon. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Smith, Carly Staten, Lee Langston, and Bradley Langston.

Mr. Langston will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p. m. Friday, January 21, 2011.

Mrs. Nelda Jean Reynolds, age 68, of Lyerly GA passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2011 in Floyd Medical Center.

Mrs. Reynolds was born October 4, 1942 in Summerville, GA, the daughter of Roscoe and Clara Atkins Steele. She was a member of Four Mile Baptist Church. Mrs. Reynolds was a former employee of Bigelow-Sanford. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Grover C. Atkins and Lillie Mae Atkins and Theodore Steele and Beulah Steele.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond Eugene Reynolds; daughters and sons-in-law, Rita and Sidney Snead; Robin and James Lemmings, JR; parents, Roscoe and Clara Steele; grandchildren, Ryan David Gifford, Caitlin Danielle Gifford, Alyssa Nicole Lemmings and Alexis Brianna Lemmings; and a number of Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Friday, January 21, 2011 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joel Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Lyerly Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Reynolds, Andrew Daniel, Justin Lee, David Reynolds, Kenny Reynolds, and Daniel Reynolds. Mr. Roy Ralph Kellett, JR, age 66, of Summerville, GA passed away January 18, 2011 at his residence after an extended illness.

Mr. Kellett was born December 28, 1944 in Summerville, GA, the son of Artichia Warren Kellett and the late Ralph Kellett, SR. Mr. Kellett was a member of the South Summerville Baptist Church. Mr. Kellett had served Chattooga County as sheriff for 17 years. Mr. Kellett was also a member of the Summerville-Trion Rotary Club and the Georgia Sheriff’s Association. He was named Democrat of the year in 2006. Mr. Kellett was a member of the Leadership Chattooga Program. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served his country in Vietnam. Other than his father, Mr. Kellett was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Kellett Jones.

Mr. Kellett is survived by his beloved wife, Aleta Kellett; son, Kyle Kellett and wife, Lori Starkey Kellett; daughter, Heather Hall Spann and husband, Bruce Spann; mother, Artichia Warren Kellett; grandchildren, Kylor Kellett, Gracie Farmer, Hayden Eagle, Taylor Eagle, Kayla Spann, and Kelsi Spann; and a sister, Jody Kellett Maples and husband, Will Maples; and several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Thursday, January 20, 2011 at South Summerville Baptist Church with Rev. David Craven, Rev. Jimmy Bryant, and Rev. Kevin Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhills Memory Garden with graveside rites conducted by Shanklin-Attaway Post #5 American Honor Guard. Active pallbearers will be Doug Stephens, Ronnie Winters, Mark Schrader, Wayne Pace, Billy Edwards, and Jack Floyd. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Sheriff Kellett’s former Employees; all members of the South Summerville Friendship Sunday School Class; and all Employee’s of At Peace Hospice.

Mr. Kellett will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Mason Funeral Home. He will also lie in state at South Summerville Baptist Church from 1:30 until the service hour on Thursday.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request that memorials be made to the Georgia Sheriff’s Boys Ranch or to South Summerville Baptist Church.

Former Chattooga County Sheriff Ralph Kellett passed away on Tuesday at his residence after an extended illness…Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Mason Funeral Home….

Mr. Garry Mike Baker, age 54, of Lyerly, GA died Friday, January 14, 2011 at Oakview Nursing and Rehab.

Mr. Baker was born August 16, 1956 in Summerville, GA, son of the late Frank Columbus and Nina McNeese Baker. He was an employee of Mohawk.

Survivors include his daughter, Christie Selman; brother, Frankie Baker; granddaughter, Angelina Selman; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 17, 2011 from the Chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Chaplain Alan Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in Lyerly Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tony Blalock, Jimmy Blalock, Shane McGuire, Mark Barham, Jason Baker, and Trey Foster. Honorary Pallbearers will be Savannah Bice, Emily Vaughan, and Paul and Shirley Ratcliff.

MR. ROD HARDEMAN, age 88, of Allen Street-Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, January 9, 2011, at his residence. A native of Fort Payne, Alabama He was born to the late Homer Harley, Sr. and Edna Rosa Beaty Hardeman on November 27, 1922. Mr. Hardeman was a member of Summerville First Baptist Church, Veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Navy, and was retired Sales Representative for Chemical Processing of Georgia. He was preceded in death by a son-the late Rodney Hardeman, sister-the late Flora Mae Whisenant, and brothers-the late J. B. Hardeman, the late Ed Hardeman, and the late Winfred Hardeman.

Surviving are His wife-Frances Thomas Hardeman; son & daughters-in-law-Gary R. & Arlene Hardeman and Jan Hardeman of Summerville; three Grandchildren, three Great Grandchildren; brother-Homer Hardeman, Jr. of Douglasville; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 15th, at 2:00 p.m. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Dr. Kenneth Summey and Rev. Doyle Waters officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery. Pallbearers-James Moore, Gerald Dempsey, Buddy Young, Jerry O’Donnell, J.B. Cleveland, Dick Lowery, Chris Corbin, Harold Jackson, Earle Rainwater, & Charlie Williams; Honorary Pallbearers-Seekers Sunday School Class of Summerville First Baptist Church. Mr. Robert Lee Bramlett, age 80, of LaFayette, GA, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Bramlett was born August 28, 1930, in Cherokee County, Alabama, the son of the late Abraham and Guy Hurley Bramlett. He was a member of the LaFayette Church of Christ. Mr. Bramlett worked as a car dealer.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Bramlett; sons, Bobby Bramlett, and Gary Bramlett; daughter, Jane Drummond; sister, Nancy Hatcher, 8 Grandchildren, and several Great-grandchildren.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Summerville Cemetery with Minister Eddie Boggess officiating. Pallbearers will be Bobby Bramlett, JR, Earl Bramlett, Eddie Bramlett, Casey Bramlett, Jackie Cooley, Mike Barnes, and Mike Clem.

Mr. Oren Andrew Hartline, age 101, of Gaylesville, AL, passed away Tuesday January 11, 2011, in Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Hartline was born December 23, 1909, in Broomtown, AL, the son of the late Reed & Liffie Gardner Hartline. He was retired from spinning department of Riegel Textile, and was a member of the Blanche United Methodist. He was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Hartline.

Survivors include his wife, Nora Lee Hartline; children, Charles Hartline, Lenell Pierce, Anita Adams, and Aleta Willingham; brother, Hugh Hartline, 14 Grandchildren, 20 Great-grandchildren, and several Nieces and Nephews.

Mrs. Dorothy Nell Allen Housch 94 formerly of Rome and Cave Spring GA. passed away Sunday January 9th at Wildwood Health Care in Talking Rock GA. ..Mrs. Housch was born February 7th , 1916 in Chattooga County…She was a homemaker and Methodist by faith…She was preceded in death by her husband , Archie Doster Pete Housch, father and mother John Beverly Allen and Ida Young Allen, 3 brothers and 6 sisters…She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Flowers of Jasper, her son Ronald Housch of Springfield, VA.  Grandchildren Jennifer Consaul of Cumming, GA.
