Mrs. Patsy Jane Parris, age 68, of the Pennville Community, passed away Monday, November 2, 2015 at her residence.

Mrs. Parris was born in Trion, Georgia on October 3, 1947, daughter of the late Labern Bowling and Ola Overton Bowling.  She was a member of the Teloga Baptist Church, and loved to read, work Crossword Puzzles and shop.

Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Parris was employed as a Home Health Aide.  Mrs. Parris was preceded in death by a great grandson, Parker Blake Joseph.

Mrs. Parris is survived by her husband, Leon Parris; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Linda Wofford, Kelly Wofford, Jason and Lesley Mitchell, Tim and Cara Parris, Robert and Jane Parris, and Keith Parris; daughter, Teresa White; brothers, J.L. Bowling, Marlon (Mary) Bowling, Labern “Punky” Bowling and Roy Bowling; sisters, Ramona (Malcolm) Pickle, Deborah Nelson and Special Sister, Kaye Clark; 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Parris will be held Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Cowart and Rev. Dean Tapp officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Eugene Ellenburg, Scott Parris, Sevron Mitchell, Lee Wofford, Nick Parris, Mitch Parris and Grand Kersey.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Logan Parris, Zack Wallace, Ethan Wofford, Preston Parris and Austin Parris.

Mrs. Parris will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M.

Mrs. Marie J. Cofield, age 89, of Trion, Georgia passed away Saturday, October 31, 2015 at her residence. 

Mrs. Cofield was born in Dawson, Alabama on September 15, 1926, daughter of the late John Marion Fraiser and Lizar Stephenson Fraiser.  She was attended the New Bethel Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cofield was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Cofield, sister, Odell Smith, and brothers, Rassie Fraiser and Henry Fraiser. 

Mrs. Cofield is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Lee Cooper of Trion; sister, Jeannette Hammond of Summerville; grandchildren, Casey (Tammy) Wallin, and Starr (Steve) McGill; great grandchildren, Savanna McGill, Sophie McGill, Brody Ward and Sadie Wallin; and a number of nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Cofield will be held Monday, November 2, 20015 at 3:00 P.M. in the Pettit Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Mr. Steve McGill officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Lee Cooper, Ricky Hammond, Robby Dalton, Steve Morgan and Steve McGill.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Annie Hogue, Terra Turner, Phyllis Spain and Kathy Blackmon. 

Mrs. Cofield will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 1:30 until the funeral hour.

Rev. Leroy McKissick, Sr., age 82, of Gaylesville, AL, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015, following a long illness, surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren. Rev. McKissick was born September 21, 1933, son of the late Henry Marion and Minnie Lee Pearsey McKissick.  He was a native of Cherokee County, AL and was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Gaylesville.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Mohawk.  He was also a member and Past Master of the Cedar Bluff Masonic Lodge # 486, F&AM.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Marion L. McKissick; a granddaughter, Candy King; and his grandparents, John and Fannie Pearsey. 

Rev. McKissick is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sylvia Ann McKissick; children, Leroy Jr. and Carol McKissick, Brenda and Ricky Peek, Billy and Shirley McKissick, Hugh and Imojean McKissick, James and Lisa McKissick, Linda and Tim Weaver; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; chosen brothers, Lewis Pearsey and Kenneth Pearsey; chosen sister, Maggie Canada and Joan McKelvey; and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services for Rev. McKissick will be held at 2:00 P.M. (E.S.T.) Monday, November 2, 2015, from the Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Sanford DeBerry, Rev. Jim VanPelt, and Rev. John Cole officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Hill "Needmore" Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandchildren. 

Rev. McKissick will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. (E.S.T.) Sunday, November 1, 2015.  He will also be in state at Faith Baptist Church from 1:00 P.M. (E.S.T.) until the hour of service on Monday. Mason Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Rev. Leroy McKissick, Sr. who died on Thursday. 

Mr. Robert Samuel “Bob” Martineau, age 91 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, October 30, 2015 at his residence.  Mr. Martineau was born in Syracuse, New York on November 5, 1923, son of the late Fred Martineau and Patricia Colby Martineau.  He was graduate of the Blodget Vocational High School in Syracuse, NY, was a semi-pro football player and a Syracuse Fire Fighter.  Mr. Martineau was a member of the Summerville Pentecostal Worship Center and was a retired Service Manager with the Motorola Corporation.  Mr. Martineau was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army Air Corps, where he was a fighter pilot in the 49^th Fighter Group in the Philippines, Okinawa and Japan.  While in the service, he earned the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 4 Battle Stars, Army of Occupation Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, and the Philippine Liberation Medal.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Martineau was preceded in death by his first wife, Dottie Martineau; son, Rob Martineau; and a brother, Fred Martineau. 

Mr. Martineau is survived by his wife of 21 years, Brenda Bowling Martineau; sister, Rose Murphy of Lake Wells, FL; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Dom Giamartino; Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Odis Grogan, Rebecca and Steve Dyer, Dorothy and Andy Hutchins, Marlene and Robert Watwood, and Dwight and Wanda Bowling; best friends, Jerry and Angelia Oskorep of Chicago; and a number of nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Services for Mr. Martineau will be held Sunday, November 1, 2015 at 3:00 P.M, in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Hutchins and Rev. Dollas Messer officiating.  Interment will follow in the Summerville Cemetery.

MS. NANCY LUCILLE TODD, age 55, of Rome, Georgia, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015, at her residence.  She was born in Atlanta, Georgia on October 12, 1960, a daughter of the late John Worsham Green, Sr. and Alice Jane Pickelsimer Green, who survives.  Ms. Todd attended the Church of Christ and was an administrative secretary for Mountain Lake Medical Center.  She was preceded in death by Paternal Grandparents, Gordon and Lucille Green and Maternal Grandparents, Floyd and Winnie Pickelsimer.
        
Surviving are daughters, Mandy Todd of Summerville and Molly Todd of Rome; fiancée, William Aycock, III; mother, Alice Jane Green of Rome; sister, Michele (David) Walker of Summerville; brother, John Green, Jr. of Naples, FL.; nieces, Holly Walker, Jordan Walker, Aubrey Walker, and Emma Walker.
        
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 3rd, at 2:00 P.M. from the Pennville Church of Christ with Minister Charles Box officiating, interment in New Hope South Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Curtis Cordle, Britt Todd, John Todd, Jr., William Aycock, James (Mickey) Pickelsimer, and CPL. Mr. Jess William Steve Wallace, age 71 of Wallace Road, Trion, GA passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015. Mr. Wallace was born December 9, 1943 in LaFayette, GA. He was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church, a Veteran of the United States Navy, and a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in West Palm Beach, FL and the VFW. He was owner of Wallace’s Heating and Air and retired from Trion City Schools.

 Mr. Wallace was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Virginia Daphine Stiles Wallace.   Mr. Wallace is survived by his wife, Annette Marie Tanzey Wallace; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Todd Stein, Shelly and Bill Den Dekker, Cara and Tim Parris, and Melanie and Preston Parris; brothers, Lonnie and Michael Wallace; sisters, Gail Vanco, Dale Roberts, Doris Hopkins, and Donna O’Claire; grandchildren, Zach Wallace, Nic Parris, Logan Parris, Mitch Parris, Chase Den Dekker, Jessica Den Dekker and Liam Parris; great-grandchildren, Harper Parris, Madden Parris, Grayson Parris, and Brady Parris; nieces & nephews.

 Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Lively and the Rev. Waydell Howell officiating. Mrs. Sybil Joy Wilson, age 75, of Trion, GA, died Wednesday October 28, 2015, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.   

Mrs. Wilson was born August 5, 1939, in Oneonta, AL. the daughter of the late Bert Glass and Nellie Pearl Brewster Glass. She was a homemaker and a member of the Welcome Hill Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Barnett. 

Mrs. Wilson is survived by her husband of 58 years, James Lee "Buster" Wilson; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Suzette Wilson; grandchildren, Erica Wilson Goldthorp, Brandon Wilson; great-grandchildren, Wilson Goldthorp and Walker Goldthorp. 

Funeral services for Mrs. Wilson will be held at 4:00 P.M. Friday, October 30, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Mann and Rev. Billy Wright officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Monroe Glass, Brent Garner, Glenn Thompson, Brandon Wilson, Don Glass, and Zane Goldthorp.  Honorary pallbearers will be the Staff of Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Joanna Perkins.

Mrs. Ruth Patterson Helton passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at her home. 

Ruth was born July 28, 1926 in Summerville, GA, the daughter of the late Altus and Mary Howard Patterson. Before her illness, Ruth was a very active member of South Summerville Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Helton; parents, Altus and Mary Howard Patterson; brother, A. V. Patterson, JR; and a sister, Barbara Carnes. 

Ruth is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Tommy Luther, and Delaine and Wayne Powell; grandson, Chuck Powell; great grandchildren, Jackson and Leslie Powell; brother, Rev. Robert Patterson, special nieces, Charlotte Carnes Maxson and Sandra Carnes DeBerry.  Other nieces, nephews, and special friends, Mary Ann Hale, Violet Murdock and Jeanette Hammond also survive. 

Private graveside and interment services will be held Friday, October 30, 2015 at Greenhills Memory Garden with Rev. Robert Patterson officiating.
