Mr. Calvin Loveless Obit (M)

Mr. Calvin Loveless, age 66, of Summerville, GA died Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Oakview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. 

Mr. Loveless was the 6th child born on July 5, 1949 in Summerville, GA to the parents of the late Mr. Grady Edward Loveless, SR and Mrs. Thelma Olivia Adams Loveless Allgood.  Calvin was also preceded in death by two brothers, James William Loveless and Larry Loveless; and a sister, Doris Elaine Loveless Johnson.  Calvin attended services at the Church of Christ with his Aunt Dorothy O’Donal.  He was formerly employed at the Sara Frances Hotel in California.  Calvin received his education in the Chattooga County School System.  He loved antique cars and was a member of the Bike Club. 

Those left to cherish his memory are brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Dorothy Loveless, Johnny Lee Loveless, and Grady and Regina Loveless; sisters, Arbie Della Loveless and Judy Nell Loveless; aunts, Helen Mims, Gladys Mitchell, Wilma Warren, Dorothy O’Donal, Bea (Lee) Victorian, and Lurlene Adams; uncles, George (Doretha) Adams and Joe Barnes; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Mason Funeral Home with Rev. James Loveless and Minister Bertha Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow in Summerville Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Nephews and flower bearers will be Nieces. 

Mr. Loveless will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the service hour on Saturday. Mason Funeral Home is directing. 

Mrs. Cora Lee Hudgins Obit (M)

Mrs. Cora Lee Hudgins, age 84, of Summerville, GA died Saturday, October 24, 2014, at her home. 

Mrs. Hudgins was born July 2, 1931 in Center Post, GA, the daughter of the late Johnny Wooten and Henrietta Powell Wooten.  She had previously worked at Trion Hospital and she was a member of the Church of Christ.  Other than her  parents, Mrs. Hudgins was preceded in death by her husband, Will Hudgins; brothers, Charles L. Wooten, Norace Wooten, Johnnie Wooten; sisters, Edna Johnson, Essie Christopher, Wanda Neal; and Grace Smith.  

Mrs. Hudgins is survived by brothers, William Harold Wooten and Ronnie Wooten; a sister, Mary Faye Fields; step-brothers and sisters-in-law, Bennie and Silvia Rawlings, Curtis and Verdell Rawlings, Nillie and Eunice Rawlings; special nephews, James Christopher, Anthony Christopher, Tim Christopher; special nieces, Denita Wiggins, Tammy Neal, Mardella Neal, Tamikia Neal Neal; and a host of other nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Friday, October 30, 2015 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop V. T. Hardin officiating.  Burial will follow in the Napier Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Hudgins will be in state and the family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the service hour on Friday. Mason Funeral Home is directing.

Mr. Harold Eugene DeBerry Obit (M)

 
Mr. Harold Eugene DeBerry, age 70, of Summerville, GA, died Sunday, October 25, 2015, at Floyd Medical Center.
 
Mr. DeBerry was born January 7, 1945, in Summerville, GA, son of the late Ennis Harold and Cecil Lorene Nelson DeBerry.  He attended the Fellowship Baptist Church, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Mohawk.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Harold Eugene DeBerry, Jr., brothers, Fred DeBerry, Jimmy DeBerry, and Terry DeBerry; and a sister, Barbara Rosson.
 
Mr. DeBerry is survived by his wife, Sandra DeBerry; sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Megan DeBerry, Lamar and Larissa DeBerry; brothers, Billy DeBerry and Jerry DeBerry; sisters, Linda Shaver and Deborah England; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
 
Funeral services for Mr. DeBerry will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 27, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Sanford DeBerry officiating.  Interment will follow in the Garrett Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be sons, grandsons, and Joey Carnes. 
 
Mr. DeBerry will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Tuesday.

Mr. J.B. “Jake”Timmons obit (c)

Mr. J.B. “Jake” Timmons, age 80, of Trion, Georgia, passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 at the Erlanger Medical Center following injuries he received in an automobile accident. 

Mr. Timmons was born in DeKalb County, Alabama on June 6, 1935, son of the late Robert Lee Timmons and Emma Octavia Garmany Timmons.  He was of the Baptist Faith and prior to retirement, was self employed in the Auto Body Repair industry.  Mr. Timmons was an Avid Trade Dayer and could be seen at Trade Day each and every Tuesday and Saturday.  He took tomatoes to Leslie’s Burger Shack, and was affectionately known as the “Mater Man”.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Timmons was preceded in death by daughters, Annette Campbell and Irene McDowell; grandsons, Tim Bartlett and Quincey Arp; brothers, R.B. Timmons and Tom Timmons; sisters, Olar McWhorter, Nell Young and Alice Ward; and a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Timmons. 

Mr. Timmons is survived by his wife, Eulene Timmons; son, Eddie Timmons, Sr.; daughters and son-in-law, Carol Tuttle and Kay and Mike Bartlett; brother and sister-in-law, Arlie and Nell Timmons; sister, Annilee Dodson; 13 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Services for Mr. Timmons will be held Monday, October 26, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Harris and Rev. Ralph McWhorter officiating.  Interment will follow in the Howell Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Eddie Timmons, Sr., Mike Bartlett, Joseph Wilson, Monty Beavers, Justin Beavers and Casey Reynolds.  Honorary Pallbearers will be his Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren and Nieces and Nephews.

Mrs. Margaret Sue Stinson obit (M)

Mrs. Margaret Sue Stinson, age 71, of Trion, GA died Wednesday October 21, 2015 at Redmond Regional Medical Center. 

Mrs. Stinson was born June 3, 1944 in Summerville, GA, the daughter of the late Guy DeBerry and Mary Louise Starkey DeBerry Stinson.  She was retired from North Georgia Home Health and was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church.  Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Stinson; brothers, Edward DeBerry and Herbert DeBerry; and a special friend, Carlton Kitchens. 

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Kathy Stinson; daughter, Cindy Stinson, brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Ethel DeBerry; grandchildren, Kyle Stinson, Tyler Stinson, and Ashley Whited. 

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p. m. Friday, October 23, 2015 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sanford Deberry officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be nephews,Rick DeBerry, Timmy DeBerry, Ron DeBerry, Marty McGuire, and Phil McGuire. Honorary pallbearers will be Rodney Allen and Phillip Bell.

Mrs. Georgia Ruth Williamson Bennett Obit (M)

Mrs. Georgia Ruth Williamson Bennett, age 88, of Summerville, GA, passed away Wednesday October 21, 2015, at her residence.

Mrs. Bennett was born March 18, 1927, in Fort Payne, AL, the daughter of William and Bertha McGregor Williamson.  She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Bennett retired from Best Mfg, was a member of Berryton Baptist Church, and preceded in death by her husband, William Oscar Bennett, sisters, Mary Rice, Margaret Lathem, brothers, Tommy, Marcus, Ludie, Luther, and Curt Williamson.

Survivors include her children, Billy & Kay Bennett, Jimmy Bennett, Carolyn & Ricky Sprayberry, Diane Skelton, Louise Forrester, sisters, Ruby Middleton, Linda Russell, Frances Hardy, Brenda Brown, Betty Ann Chamlee, Shirley Harrison, 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren,8 great-great-grandchildren  and a number of nieces and nephews also survive Mrs. Georgia Ruth Bennett.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday October 24, 2015 from Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mickey Skates, Rev. Clyde Painter, and Brother Jake Morrison officiating with interment in the Greenhills Memory Garden.  Active pallbearers are Josh Bennett, Jeff Phillips, Jon Skelton, Jerry Skelton, Drake Dodd, Shannon Carmon, Dakota Finster, and Chris Carmon.  Honorary pallbearers are members of the Berryton Baptist Church, and Staff of Heyman Hospice.

Mr. Scotty Alan Slawson obit (C)

Mr. Scotty Alan “Scooter” Slawson, age 29, of Richmond, Kentucky passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Hutcheson Medical Center. 

Mr. Slawson was born in Dayton, Ohio on November 5, 1985, son of Scotty Gilbert and Bonnie Jo Slawson Winkler.  He was self employed as a carpenter and loved to draw.  Mr. Slawson was preceded in death by a son, Ethan Slawson on February 18, 2007. 

Mr. Slawson is survived by his children, Matthew Durham, Blaze Withrow and Shayla Slawson; his mother and step-father, Bonnie and Ricky Winkler;  his father, Scotty Gilbert; brothers, Jason Chaney, Daniel Gilbert, and Nicholas Winkler; sisters, Jessica Smith, Juanita Malone and Jennifer Gilbert; and his former wife and mother of Blaze and Shayla, Kayla Harper Slawson. 

Funeral Services for Mr. Slawson will be held Friday, October 23, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Pastor Dustin Farmer officiating.  Burial will be in Kentucky next to his son, Ethan.

Minister Bill Morgan Obit (M)

Minister Bill Morgan, age 79, of Rock Spring, GA, formerly of Hall Valley Road, Trion, GA, passed away Friday October 16, 2015, at his residence.  Minister Morgan was born April 25, 1936, in Dayton, TN, the son of Daniel J. and Grace Wheeler Morgan.  He was a member of Subligna Road Church of Christ, other than his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Jack Morgan, Wallace Morgan, Alan Morgan, and Johnny Morgan.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy Mitchell Morgan, children, Adam & Dana Morgan, Mark & Lisa Morgan, Maria & Joel Hillis, Monna & Tommy O'Kelley, 9 grandchildren, sister, Allene Roddy. 

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday October 19, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Ministers Hugh Glaze, Joel Hillis, Tommy O'Kelley,  Bro. Adam Morgan, and Bro. Mrs. Margree B. Kirk, age 95, of Trion, GA, passed away Thursday October 15, 2015, in Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Kirk was born April 17, 1920, in Resaca, GA, the daughter of the late George Melton and Susan Elizabeth Crump Blaylock.  She was retired from Riegel Textile. She was preceded in death by her husband, C B Kirk; daughter, Eula Mae Culpepper Hawkins; grandsons, Aaron Kirk Martin, Justin Cody Kirk, and Dennis Dale Culpepper. 

Survivors include her children, Susan and Carl Middleton, Sandra Martin-Ales and David Ales, Randall and Sheila Kirk; brother, Jimmy Blaylock; sister, Elizabeth Jenkins; sisters-in-law, Lillian Blaylock and Mary Davis; 9 Grandchildren, 21 Great-grandchildren, and 15 Great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p. m. Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel, with Bade Eller officiating.  Burial will follow in New Home Cemetery.
